4a Dioicous, rarely autoicous. Female bracts dentate, perianth mouth cells short rectangular; ; abaxial leaf surface often with multicellular projections, mammillae or spines; lobe base cells 8--13 μm wide; leaf lobes ascending and more or less conduplicate from a spreading base.
