Distribution: On soil; in Oregon known only from the Rogue River Trail a few miles downstream from Agness; widespread in California.
Comments: This is a mediterranean species found around the world in suitable habitats. Clark and Frye (1929) listed this from three localities in Washington State. I have examined each of the voucher specimens and all three were misidentified. The species is not known from Washington and is unlikely to be found there.
