HOME SPECIES INDEX GENUS INDEX GLOSSARY
Synonym: Jungermannia pumila var. polaris (Lindb.) Berggr.
Special Status: ORBIC List 2.
Recognition: This species is characterized by the circular, concave, overlapping leaves.
Distribution: On rocks, where wet; rare in mountainous regions.
Comments: I have made a collection from the depths of Waldo Lake, Lane Co., Oregon (Wagner, et al. 2000) and one other from the Baker City watershed at the south end of Elkhorn Ridge. The only other Oregon record of which I am aware was made in the Diamond Peak Wilderness.
