Recognition: The numerous, uniseriate cilia fringing the leaf lobes give this plant its distinctive fuzzy appearance.
Distribution: Usually grows on bark or wood; in Oregon a single report from Antone Creek, Baker County, in the northeastern corner of the state (Hong 1978).
Comments: Ptilidium pulcherrimum, like Ptilidium ciliare, may turn up in NW Oregon.
