Special Status: ORBIC List 2.
Recognition: Spinous leaf margins and the shiny leaf surface, appearing as if it has been varnished, make this a very distinctive species.
Distribution: In Oregon this is known only from Saddle Mountain, Clatsop County.
Comments: Schofield (2002 and pers. comm.) suggests there is not a good distinction between the named varieties.
